Reecote EC017 - Solvent-Free Epoxy Coating

Suitable for use where a high build, hard wearing, hygienic, coating is required. Ideal situations include kitchens, food areas and dairies. The hardwearing characteristics of Reecote EC017 also enables use in light/heavy industrial areas, such as garages service bays and factory gangways.

Reecote EC017 is based on a blend of epoxy resins, curing agents and mineral fillers, which when mixed together provide a low odour, solvent free, high build epoxy coating system.

Coverage is given as a guide only as the exact coverage will vary from surface to surface.

Surface Preparation

New concrete should have an RH% of 75% or less. The substrate should be clean, free from laitence, oil, grease or other agents, which may impair adhesion.

Cleaning techniques may include acid etching, grinding, light mechanical scabbling, blasting or degreasing, depending on wall contamination.

Existing concrete floors should be sound and free from loose material.

Damaged areas should be repaired with a Reepare Mortar prior to the coating application.

Application

Apply the mixed material to the suitably prepared wall by brush or roller, ensure complete coverage of the wall area. Apply the second coat within 24 hours of the first. On very porous concrete a third coat may be required.

Mixing Instructions:

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE MIXING IS CARRIED OUT IN THE RESIN CONTAINER.

Reecote EC017 A/S is a two pack system and it is very important to ensure the curing agent, compound B, should be added to the entire contents of the resin pack, component A and stirred thoroughly until uniform colour is achieved (2-3 minutes).

Packs should not be split unless accurate weighing facilities are available. Reecote EC017 A/S is supplied in pre-weighed units of the correct proportions.

Application:

Reecote EC017 A/S should be applied to Reeprime CPS900 (see separate data sheet). Apply the mixed material to the suitably prepared floor by brush or roller; ensure complete coverage of the floor area. Apply the second coat within 24 hours of the first.
