An engineering company based in Birmingham came to us for advice for the best product to lay over a table top for a machine that lays sheets of carbon fibre. These sheets are used to make internal wing structures on a military aeroplane called an A400m.
Virtus Resins specified Flowepoxy - our epoxy self-leveller which provides a smooth gloss finish and is easily cleanable. It offers excellent resistance to chemicals and the incorporation of abrasion resistant fillers in the epoxy resin produces a floor finish with the highest order of wear resistance, suitable for forklift truck traffic and general industrial use.
The client was very happy with the outcome, and the machine will go into full production in the next 5 years, with all of the internal wing structures being made at this site. The new table doubles their capacity to lay the carbon sheet that manufacture these structures.
